Dear Music Supporter, Civic Morning Musicals is joyfully celebrating 116 years of community-service in providing the highest quality of music presentation possible in Central New York. Through the years CMM has sponsored a wide range of classical music performance, from international stars to local artists. Up to 30 Lunch-Hour concerts per year are presented free and open to the public (a valuable performance forum for local musicians) An annual state-wide Vocal Competition for singers is held in November. Annual Concerto Competitions for music-career-bound high school students (offering a chance to play with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra) is held in January/February. Junior Pro-Art provides master classes, recitals, and chamber music opportunities for high school students. Yearly In-Recital concerts are presented Live At The Everson! featuring highly regarded professional musicians who began in or have ties to Central New York. Annual high school, college, and community awards are presented recognizing musical achievement and support for classical music. CMM continues to focus on the future by encouraging young artists, spotlighting local musicians and supporting American music to build new audiences for classical music. |
