Since its inception in 1890, CMM has been a community-based membership organization. A membership fee is assessed all members. The fees collected are an essential part of the funding stream for our many programs in support of our area classically trained musicians, students of music, and their potential audiences. About 20 years ago the board committed to providing an honorarium to Wednesday series performers. It is not meant as “payment” for performance and should not be seen as such. Its sole purpose is to perhaps offset some of the expenses incurred and to recognize a personal gift of art. In this 2008-09 season, we continue those traditions and ask that each performer become a member of CMM at the beginning of the fiscal year. We also ask that performers remember that CMM needs to be supported, as well as it needs to have its recital series filled. In the event that your request to perform cannot be honored, we ask that you consider supporting CMM with your membership fee. Requests for refunds will, however, be cheerfully granted.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP:
  • Help underwrite all our programs and enrich our cultural milieu.
  • Share performance creativity on the Wednesday concert series.
  • Enjoy performing on, or with, one of the finest of 9-foot concert grand Steinway pianos.
  • Receive free tickets to In Recital concerts (a value equal to or greater than the membership fee).
  • Be represented by elected board members whose primary responsibility is to ensure CMM understands and considers performance needs of members.
  • Have a professional recording made of your performance (given engineer availability).
  • Possibly have your recital aired on WCNY FM.
  • Receive an honorarium in recognition of your gift of music in support of our cultural community
